The Red Fort was the residence of the Mughal Empire until 1857, for about 200 years. During the Mughal regime, the Red Fort was in the form of the main fort, almost all the events of the British used to be in the Red Fort.

The Red Fort was built in 1648 by the fifth Mughal Empire Shah Jahan. Red Fort was completely constructed by red stones because of its name is Red Fort.
This fort represents the creativity of Mughal ruler Shah Jahan. This fort was built according to Muslim traditions.

- The Red Fort was first known as “Qila-i-Mubarak”.
- It took about 10 years to give shape and beauty to the Red Fort
- The country’s precious Kohinoor diamond was a part of the throne of Shahjahan who ruled the country from the Red Fort, which was later acquired by the British.
- The main architect of this memorial was Ustad Ahmad and Ustad Hamid, who gave the entire fort such a beautiful and strong one.
- One of the two main doors of the fort was given the name ‘Lahore Gate’, the front of this gate was towards Lahore and at that time Pakistan and India was one country.
- Seeing the height, the fort’s shape looks similar to the octahedron.
- From the Independence Day till today, the Prime Minister of the country addresses the people of the country every year from the Red Fort.
- Bahadur Shah Zafar was the last Mughal ruler to rule from the Red Fort, which later the British government had also convicted of treason
- Red Fort in 2007 has also been declared UNESCO World Heritage Site.
