Delhi is called the city of the Mughals. All the signs of Mughals can be easily seen in Delhi. This proves how magnificent the Mughal period must have been. One great example of this is the old fort. Purana Quila is one of the most interesting tourist place in Delhi as well as being the oldest in all forts of Delhi.

This fort has three gates to the north, south and west. Right now there is an entry into the fort from the western gate. It is believed that Sher Shah Suri could not complete the work of building the old fort and it was completed by Humayun.

Humayun just renovated the old Fort (Purana Quila) and named it Denpnah. It is the opinion of most that the walls and doors of the fort were built by Himayun and the buildings inside were built during the time of Sher Shah Suri.

In 1970, the old fort walls were used as the backdrop of the theater, where the National School of Drama was produced. Many dramas such as Tughlaag, Andha Yuga and Sultan Razia were produced, which were directed by Abraham Alkazi.

Presently, sound and light is performed every evening after sunset in the old fort, which thousands of people also come to see and enjoy it.

The walls of this fort are 18 meters high and the fort also has three arched entrances: Bada Darwaza in the west, Humayun Gate and Talaki Gate in the south. Large doors are still used here today.

While the South Gate was built by Humayun, it is probably known as Humayun Gate and also the Humayun’s Tomb is visible from the South Gate.

All the gates of the fort have been made of huge stones and two towers have been built on either side of them. All the gates of the fort are also decorated with famous artifacts of the time.

History of Old Fort:

The history of the old fort is as interesting as the history of Humanyu and Sher Shah Suri. During the Battle of Chausa in 1539, Mughal Emperor Humayun was defeated by Sher Shah Suri, the founder of Suri dynasty. In the joy of victory, Sher Shah Suri started the construction of this historical monument in 1539, which was completed by 1545. Sher Shah Suri had captured two Mughal centers in Delhi and Agra. Sher Shah Suri built the old fort to keep Delhi safe from the Mughals. Unfortunately, Sher Shah Suri died in 1545 after which, Humayun had recaptured Delhi and Agra. Humayun used Sher Mandal (an octagonal red sandstone tower) as his library and later observatory. According to mythology, Humayun died after falling from the staircase of this tower and due to this the Mughals later decided to evacuate the fort so that it would not be inauspicious with them. Later when Akbar shifted the capital to Delhi, he built the Red Fort to protect Delhi from foreign invasions.

In his office, he had the huge collection of books and instruments related to astronomy. Raja Jai Singh had gathered many key astronomers in a special place for the purpose. In his great work, Hindus, Islamic and European astronomers contributed their equal. During the reign of King Jai Singh, he created a team that searched for astronomical information and facts. Once the king sent that party from India to Europe. This team was unable to bring Newton, Galileo, Copernicus and Kepler’s works and their books, but brought some books, documents and instruments with them.

Build:

Located in Connaught Place of Delhi, Jantar Mantar is a unique model of architecture art, one of the main tourist destinations of Delhi. Jantar Mantar is called Observatory in which 13 astronomical instruments are present. Jantar Mantar was designed by Raja Jai Singh, according to the French author De Boise, Jai Singh himself used to prepare the model of the wax of this machine with his own hands.

During the settlement of Rajasthan’s capital Jaipur, Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II had started the construction of Jantar Mantar, Jai Singh was knowledge of astrology and he was also very interested in it. It took about 6 years to complete the construction work of Jantar Mantar, as a result of which it was fully prepared in 1734. Instruments made in Jantar Mantar were established primarily to find out the planets’ movements. Jantar Mantar of Delhi is inspired by Somarkand [Uzbekistan] Observatory.

Qutub Minar is the world’s tallest tower is located Mehrauli, Delhi city in India. Delhi is Known the heart of India, many ancient buildings and heritage are located here. One of these old and special buildings is located in Delhi called Qutub Minar, which is the longest tower in India and the world.

Qutub Minar is the most special and famous tourist destination in India. Qutub Minar located is in Mehrauli, south Delhi. This building is a very special part of Hindu-Mughal history. Qutub Minar has also been included in the list of India’s oldest global heritage by UNESCO. In this article, we will look at the information about Qutub Minar and some special and interesting things.

Qutub Minar is the largest brick wall in the world with a height of 72.5 meters. The name of Qutub Minar comes in the largest tower of India after the Fatah Burj of Mohali. The campus around Qutub Minar is Qutub Complex which is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

1. What is the height of Qutub Minar

Qutub Minar is made of red stone and marble. The height of Qutub Minar is 72.5 meters and its diameter is 14.32 meters. There is a total of 379 staircases inside the tower, which is built-in rounding.

2. Who built the Qutub Minar

You will also find an answer to the question of who completed the Qutub Minar. the founder of Delhi Sultanate, qutubuddin aibak started the construction of Qutub Minar in 1200 CE. Then in 1220 Iltumish, the Aibak successor and grandson, built three more floors in this tower. After this, in 1369, the top floor fell completely due to lightning. After this, Feroz Shah Tughlaq once again started the construction of Qutub Minar and he got 2 new storeys built every year. They built these floors with marble and red stone. The construction of Qutub Minar was started by qutubuddin aibak and completed by Iltutmish and in 1369 the tower was repaired by Ferozeshah Tughlaq after it was dismantled by accident.

3. How many storey buildings are Qutub Minar

Qutub Minar, a 73 m high tower, was built by Qutub-ud-din Aibak in 1193, soon after the defeat of the last Hindu kingdom of Delhi. The building has five separate floors, each marked by a balcony and 15 meters in diameter at the base with just 2.5 meters at the top.

4. History of Qutub Minar

Qutub Minar is named after the Qutub-ud-din Aibak, the Sultanate of Delhi since he started construction in 1199 AD. At that time, Qutub-ud-din was the founder of the Delhi Sultanate. Later, succession and grandson Iltumish built three minarets in it.

The name of the man who built the Qutub Minar was Bakhtiyar Kaki, who was a Sufi saint. It is said that the map of the tower was made before Turkey came to India. But the strangest thing is that till now no documents have been found in the history of India about Qutub Minar. It is said that this tower was built after taking inspiration from the Rajput tower.

Some passages about its history are seen on the Qutub Minar in Parsi-Arabic and Nagari languages. But all the information about the history of Qutub Minar has been obtained from Firoz Shah Tughlaq (1351–89) and Sikander Lodi (1489–1517).

Let us tell you that Kuwat-ul-Islam Mosque is also situated in the north of Qutub Minar. The Qawwat-ul-Islam mosque was also built by Qutub-ud-din Aibak in 1192. This mosque is also said to be a very old mosque of the Indian subcontinent. After constructing this mosque, Iltumish (1210-35) and Ala-ud-din Khilji developed this mosque again.

When the upper part of the Qutub Minar was broken due to lightning in 1368 AD, but later it was rebuilt by Firoz Shah. With it rebuilt, Feroz Shah built two more floors with white marble. But after this a huge earthquake occurred in 1505, Qutub Minar suffered heavy damage and whatever damage was done in the earthquake was repaired by Alexander Lodi.

But this process did not stop here after this, on 1 August 1903, a major earthquake occurred and once again the Qutub Minar suffered major damage. But in the year 1928, Major Robert Smith of the British Indian Army got it repaired, he also built a dome over the Qutub Minar, but later the Pakistan Government General Lord Harding had removed the dome and it was built before the Qutub Minar. Got it installed in

5. 7 most interesting things of Qutub Minar

The most important thing about Qutub Minar is that there is an iron pillar in the premises which has been around for 2000 years but it has not rusted till now. Not having rust in iron pole for so many years is a big thing in itself.

Although Qutub Minar is the largest building in India but it is not at straight, it is a little bent. The biggest reason for this is that the repair work of this building has been done many times.

Qutub Minar is the tallest building in the world as well as the tallest building made of bricks.

There are 379 circular steps inside the Qutub Minar building which is up to the height of the entire building.

Talking about the history of Qutub Minar, the inscription Minar has inscriptions in Arabic and Nagari script. Which tells about its history.

When the Qutub Minar was damaged after the earthquake under the rule of Feroze Shah Tughlaq, then Feroz Shah got it repaired. But after this, the tower was broken due to earthquake again in 1505, which was repaired by Alexander Lodi.

The original name of Qutub Minar is called Vishnu Pillar, along with one of the Navratnas of its emperor Chandragupta Vikramaditya.

6. Which is the best time to visit Qutub Minar

Qutub Minar is a place where you can visit any time of the year in any season. You are allowed to go here from 6:30 in the morning to 6:30 in the evening. By the way, you can visit Qutub Minar in any season but Delhi is very hot in summer. So do not go here in summer.

7. How to reach Qutub Minar

Qutub Minar Metro is the nearest metro station to go here. All buses going to Mehrauli cross the Qutub Minar as Mehrauli Bus Stand is located near Qutub Minar Mosque.

Hyperbaric oxygen therapy or simply Oxygen Therapy, as it is called, involves exposing the body to higher concentration of oxygen at a pressure that is greater than usual, for the purpose of quicker healing of wounds. Wounds generally need oxygen to heal properly and exposing them to a higher concentration may speed healing. The wound healing management algorithm that is applied during the hyperbaric oxygen therapy improves clinical outcomes and, at the same time, remarkably reduce expenditures.

The science of wound healing says that oxygen plays key nutritional and cell signal roles throughout all the phases of wound healing and hyperbaric doses of oxygen are known to increase hypoxic wound oxygen tensions to normal or even supraphysiologic levels. In lay mans language, it increases the catalysts that help heal a wound faster. In response to higher oxygen levels, important cellular functions like angiogenesis, fibroplasia, epithelialization, and bacterial killing ensue at a more swift pace. In wound healing, if the bacterial burden is removed and a preliminary matrix is formed, it enables a rapid fibrous tissue formation and epithelial coverage. This is exactly what the high concentration of oxygen, supplied during the Oxygen therapy does. Removing bacterial burden and allowing resolution of any inflammation, which in turn facilitates the production of matrix, division of cells and the ultimate wound closure.

Oxygen therapy becomes a must in cases, where wound healing is impaired or dysfunctional. Where the patient is suffering from common diseases like diabetes, peripheral arterial or venous vascular disease, radiation and other situations, Oxygen Therapy becomes almost indispensable. New therapies of antibacterial control like the oxygen therapy are becoming more and more relevant as mankind is learning more about bacterial resistance to antimicrobial therapy every day. A problem that exists with respect to chronic wounds is that after a prolonged period of inflammation, there is generally poor quality of healing that operates. For instance, a wound that has not closed within a 3-week period from the date of its opening, has a 70% chance of developing excessive fibrotic hypertrophic scars. Tissue healing of a higher quality and durability can be achieved with better oxygenation of the wound as it results in faster extermination of the tissue from the inflammatory state. For instance, below knee level limb amputations have shown different healing rates at different pressures of oxygen at the amputation site:

11% healing at <20 mmHg

46% healing at 20mmHg – 30mmHg

97% healing at 30 mmHg and more

Oxygen Therapy: The Procedure

In case of an emergency situation, where the wound of a patient is critical, an immediate and thorough examination of airway patency, breathing and circulation is crucial, and in perilous illness such as peri-arrest, high-concentration oxygen should be administered via a face mask at 10-15L/min if the patient is hypoxic, with unceasing intensive care of pulse oximetry and treatment of a proper target range once the patient’s condition is stable.

There are a number of Oxygen delivery systems, classified as high pressure and low-pressure systems, that can be used to administer this high concentration oxygen and the selection as to which one should be used in a particular case, must be based on optimal prevention and treatment hypoxemia and efficient prevention complications of hyper-oxygenation.

Here are a few masks that one has to choose from, along with their utility:

Nasal Cannula – Can provide 24% – 40 % oxygen concentration.

Simple Face Mask – Can provide 40% – 60% oxygen concentration.

Non-rebreather Mask – Can provide 60% – 80% oxygen concentration.

Partial-rebreather Mask – Can provide 80% – 90% oxygen concentration.

Face Tent – Can provide 28% – 100% oxygen concentration.

Venturi Mask – Can provide 24% – 60% oxygen concentration but with increased precision.

Along with these masks, an important part of the HBOT of Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy is an efficient anesthesia delivery system, such as the Bain Circuit. A Bain circuits is typically an anesthesia delivery system, which ensures that there is no rebreathing of the exhaled air, which is a must for HBOT to be effective and optimal.

Pregnancy is important to both the unborn baby and the mother. The duration requires maximum care to ensure the safety of the fetus. It is, therefore, necessary to seek the right information whenever you want to receive medical procedures. And this post will help you understand if dental anesthesia is safe during pregnancy.

But first, you need to know that there are various forms of anesthesia that you can receive from your dentist. Each treatment gives a distinct effect on your body. So, the question remains if it is safe for you to accept anesthesia when going for your dental treatment as an expectant mother.

To begin with, the process of tooth extraction and other procedures are seriously painful. They will most definitely require anesthesia to ease the pain during the procedure.

It is common knowledge that various types of medicine can easily cross the placenta and reach the growing fetus. If it happens, you may end up harming your unborn baby. And this explains why this question is common among expectant mothers, caregivers, and interested parties.

For instance, in the past, dentists used to avoid the use of anesthetic treatments during pregnancy to carry out their dental procedures. But, it turned out that, the procedures caused too much pain and stress on the mother.

Here are some guidelines you can use to ensure that you (the expectant mother) and the unborn baby are both safe while you treat dental conditions.

1. Avoid Dental Treatments in the First Trimester

Unless is it critical and emergency, you should try as much as you can to avoid going for dental treatments for the first three months of your pregnancy. But if you have an emergency, your dentist will advise on the best way forward to treat your condition and sustain the health of the baby.

In a post by the BBC network, however, it is risky to use even painkillers like paracetamol during pregnancy. The report shows that the risk is even greater during the second trimester. They said that using the medication on expectant mothers has an adverse effect on unborn baby boys.

2. The Use of Local Anesthetics

Local anesthetics means the use of anesthetic drugs that only numbs the place where the operation is going to take place. This form of treatment is the best choice for dental care and treatment during pregnancy. It does not affect your normal body functioning or cause any part of you to stop working effectively. It also has no negative effect on unborn babies.

Local anesthetics should help you ease the pain when receiving necessary dental treatments. This form of anesthesia mothers has no effect on the baby when induced to nursing mothers. You can, therefore, receive normal doses of anesthetics after child delivery.

3. Sedation May be of Help

Sedation is the use of drugs to make the patient drowsy and to drift off their anxiety. There are many sedative options a dentist can use to help you ease the anxiety during a dental operation. One of the common options is the use of acupuncture. Music can also help you stay relaxed while receiving your treatments.

Nitrous oxide and diazepam are some of the things to avoid during pregnancy. The latter, for example, should be avoided as early as possible before you get pregnant. Your dentist can use their precordial stethoscope to check your heartbeat and breathing frequency to determine if the sedation they give you helps you to calm down before they do any tooth operation.

4. General Anesthesia is a Big Risk

In surgery, general anesthesia is used to make your whole body unconscious so that you are not aware of what is going on. Your dentist may want to apply general anesthesia to enable them to have uninterrupted access to your teeth and to work on your them effortlessly.

Before you receive a general anesthetic drug for your dental operation, it is ideal for your dentist to know that you are expectant. It will help them to choose the right medicine that will not affect your unborn baby. Do so even if you are not pregnant but planning to be pregnant soon.

Summary

It is common for many women to avoid going for dental treatments because of pregnancy. The suffering and pain that come with dental problems can cause problems on your general health and that of the unborn baby.

You should go for treatment, but let your dentist know about your condition or plans to have a baby soon. This will help them to make the right choice of drugs to administer for the operation. If possible, have all dental treatments like dental panorama, cleaning, tooth extraction, etc. early before you become pregnant for easier management and care for the pregnancy.
